Head Coaching Makes Better Coordinators?
Watched the BCS Title Game between LSU vs tOSU and was somewhat shocked that the Buckeyes got handled so easily by the LSU Tigers. During the telecast I found it interesting that LSU's OC and DC are at the highest level of coaching experience. Bo Pelini recently being named head coach at Nebraska and Gary Crowton formerly at BYU.
In comparison, the Irish coaching staff in 2007 adjusted to replacing Rick Minter(Former Cincinatti HC) with Corwin Brown and David Cutcliffe (Former Ole Miss HC) then Pete Vaas (Cologne Centurions and Berlin Thunder). Hopefully Coach Heywood and Coach Brown can turn things around. With gridiron success on the field in 2008, a good barometer of success would be to watch for the promotion of your current staffers.
