FUN COMBINE FACT #236: There is a direct relationship between arm length and length of career for offensive lineman

Jon Tenuta, Notre Dame's new assistant head coach/defense, has quite the resume. In six seasons as Georgia Tech's defensive coordinator, the Yellow Jackets ranked in the top half of every major defensive statistical category. In 2007, Tech led the nation with 47.5 sacks.

As of Jan. 23, 22 elite high school players had made verbal commitments to sign with the Irish on Feb. 6. Included among this group are 10 players ranked among the Top 150 by ESPN. QB Dayne Crist is ranked No. 22, while WR Michael Floyd is ranked No. 29.

While Notre Dame struggled in many areas during the 2007 season, the Irish pass defense often played exceptionally well. In fact, the Irish finished third out of 119 FBS teams in pass defense, allowing just 161.58 yards per game. Notre Dame's defense also allowed only 19 passing TDs and snared 11 INTs in 12 games.
