Taylor's TidbitsIrish Impress NFL Scouts At CombineFri, 2/29/08 So, tell your old pal Aaron the truth … how much of the NFL Scouting Combine did you guys watch this week? I bet more than you thought you would. I hate to admit it, but I watched a lot myself. And not because I like to watch young, fit guys run sprints and lift weights…although my fiancée sure did seem to enjoy it. As a former player and one who had been through the mentally and physically challenging experience, I watched the combine with an eye toward “scouting” potential players for my beloved Green Bay Packers. But, even more importantly, I wanted to see how our four Notre Dame guys did. BackPost new commentMan, I'm sorry, but we gotta have you log in. That's so we don't get spammed. Hmm, 32 reps on your pro day workout in 1994?
That's a lot more than I've done...in my lifetime...cumulatively.
ND FOOTBALL..........
CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS SEASON.......LET'S IRISH
Laws' arm strenght
I was surprised to read Laws arm strenght was not what it should be. I was up close and personal with the ND offensive line players last year and was astonish to see not one of them cut. They looked like dough boys.
But Laws? A surprise.
Laws
If you are referring to the comment from the scout included in this article, it was talking about his arm length, not strength. Trevor's arms aren't very long...but who cares when you've got that kind of motor.
Zibby
So what was the NFL strength coach's reaction to Zibby's shouting back at him? Any feelers on where he might end up? Seems kind of like a John Lynch or Rodney Harrison type -- big hitter, good speed, average cover guy.
Combine thoughts
Great article. Only comment, I would be surprised to see Sully go that high. I am also interested in what your thoughts are for our beloved Packers. Really struggling to see their priorities and holes. Btw, I think Trevor has the right attitude and would fit in perfectly with McCarthy's "lunch pail" team. - Love the web site.
